I have already submitted a SRU request to update Ubuntu's packaging with 10 or so crashfixing and related patches, and it is pending review.
In addition, KTorrent 2.1.4 is entering Gutsy soon.... http://ktorrent.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1539 has amd64 packages contributed from someone else. I took a quick glance at it and it looks good to me, but again, I didn't make them so I can't even support them.
