Public bug reported: Some full-screen apps disable commands such as ALT+F4, ALT+TAB and CTRL+ALT+Arrow Key, making it impossible to navigate off them if they freeze. This means that the machine must be forcefully rebooted (unless CTRL+ALT+Backspace is enabled - but even that isn't the ideal solution). Either allow ALT+F4 to work all the time on any active window, create a SHIFT+ALT+F4 as a command for *end process* or create some sort of Windows CTRL+ALT+DELETE style menu which overrides any running app and allows it to be forcefully closed.
I feel this is especially important at the moment, as there are many linux apps such as games which do frequently experience these sorts of problems. Even though it is the app's fault, it looks as though it it Ubuntu which has crashed when none of these commands work (even though it usually hasn't crashed, it just doesn't respond to those specific commands). ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/820464 Title: Some full-screen apps disable commands such as ALT+F4, ALT+TAB and CTRL+ALT+Arrow Key, making it impossible to navigate off them if they freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/820464/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
