Public bug reported:

If I boot my machine a sound is played when the login window occurs (drums),
but after logging in no sound is played at all.
I am not sure if this is a alsa or pulseaudio problem.

Neither over the test app (system->Einstellungen->Klang /
System->Settings->Sound) nor over banshee and mplayer (both mp3, mpeg)
sound is played.

I also checked alsamixer as suggested in another bug report, but
unfortunately without effect. I guess it must be a user specific setting
which was probably changes during the last ubuntu update.
