Perhaps I had the same problem after all. I got the desktop to display but still wasn't able to open it in nautilus or in the file selector dialogue. Nautilus hung and pegged the CPU.
I moved everything from my desktop to a backup directory, and moved items back one-by-one. The culprit was a custom application launcher with a custom icon. When I create a launcher with that particular icon, bang the CPU redlines. I'm not sure of the protocol here, should I attach the offending icon? Hope that's OK, I'll go ahead and do it. It's the bluefish-icon.svg from the Nuovo theme. Cute, isn't he? :-) ** Attachment added: "nautilus hangs when this icon is used in a desktop launcher" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7462323/bluefish-icon.svg -- Nautilus cpu usage of 100%, locks up when pressing the view-menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/104558 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
