@herton I'm sorry to inform you that the new 2.6.38-11 kernel, failed me just now. I was watching a youtube video on google chrome and it happened just like with the -10 generic stable version. In addition boot stopped at the pink screen. I tried an older kernel version it stopped as well. The only way about was to run a fsck.
