Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
I have a simple UTF8 encoded file and a configure script. I would like to edit the UTF8 encoded text file via ssh in Nautilus. But the file types seems to be detected as binary (application/octet-stream). When I download the files into my local file system, everything works well, the first file is detected as a text/x-csrc and a text/x-shellscript. This is bad for me, because I cannot edit these files through ssh in nautilus: Cannot open ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/home/kovzol/p/w2/configure: No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind of file. In addition, I cannot add the Gnome Text Editor to this file type because I get an error message: "Nem lehet alkalmazást hozzáadni az alkalmazás-adatbázishoz", in English: "Application cannot be added to the application database", or so. The simple UTF8 file has the name "COPYRIGHT". I experienced that if I change the name to "COPYRIGHT.txt", then the file type will be detected properly and I can edit this file in nautilus well.
