This annoying issue re-appeared on 11.04. When you unplug the power cable the OS just crash. If you are on batteries and you plug back in power it crash as well.
Hardware: Dell Inspiron Duo, 64bit; tested on two different machines. As Lucid Lynx is not friendly with this hardware (touch screen, touch pad and audio issues) makes no sense to have it on these machines. With limited time as I now have, I've tried to narrow down the cause of the kernel panic, and it seems connected to Gnome and its power profile' settings, as everything works as expected before the user logs in. As a side note Linux Mint also suffered the same fate. It would be great if somebody here help me to debug this, as now I am deep in lots of undone work and no much time is left for learning all the basics for a successful debugging. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/414541 Title: kernel panic on laptop power cable disconnect after disconnecting ethernet cable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/414541/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
