The hardware has a Broadcom wireless adapter and it is using "brcm80211", the Broadcom driver in the kernel/staging. It could be of bad quality in 2.6.38.
can you try to install the proprietary Broadcom driver package "bcmwl- kernel-source" and see if the issue still occurs with it? Please reboot and make sure that "wl.ko" is used. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => In Progress ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772768 Title: [Dell E4310 201103-7379] Turning off Wi-Fi via the on/off switch causes the system to lock up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/772768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
