Hi komputes, after a lot of different tests I was able to make it boot!!! :-)
I had to append the option "LIVEMEDIA=/dev/mmcblk0p1" to the kernel parameters in order to boot successfuly from the USB pendrive. This confirms the "Startup Disk Creator" creates bootable USB pendrives that cannot "see" the partitions of cards inserted into the on-board "SD Host controller: Ricoh Co Ltd R5C822 SD/SDIO/MMC/MS/MSPro Host Adapter (rev 25)" while booting. Please don't hesitate to ask me for further debugging/testing of this issue so we can solve/work-around it in future releases.
