Public bug reported:

gnome-settings-daemon reports via .xsession-errors (name differs)
(gnome-settings-daemon:1955): libappindicator-WARNING **: Unable to connect to
the Notification Watcher:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name :1.2203 was not
provided by any .service fil
es

also unity-panel-service does not start properly and .xsession-errors logs a
lot of
unity-panel-service: no process found

The menu of running applications jump from application to panel multiple
times per second and dbus-daemon produces around 30% cpu load.

I fixed the problem temporarily for the session by killall -9 gnome-
settings-daemon
