Same problem here since weeks on my (rather old) Vaio with 1GB RAM and a Nvidia GeForce 6200 with 128 MB RAM. But white windows only appear, when logging into the unity session; the unity-2D session works flawalessly. This happened with the old Nvidia drivers and happens with the new Nvidia driver 275.09.07, too. So, no progess there. I have added a nice screenshot :-)
