I second Scotts comment, 11.04 running gnome classic, and the "indicator applet
application menu" obviously. Tried both with and without the metacity
compositor, and compiz running. I should also note that the reason i added this
"global menu" to the panel in the first place was because i noticed a brief
redraw of the menu (bar) in the actual application window menu after a new
window had been created, so i figured it wouldn't do that if i put it in the
panel instead. Might have something to do with how this is implemented (read
patched) in GTK/Metacity, i suppose.
Either way, i use a MBP 8,1 (13 inch), so that would be a sandy bridge intel HD
3000 GPU AFAIK.
