I was also experiencing this. It seems that in my case a file got
corrupted and that caused a fatal error in the syncdaemon. The file in
question was
$HOME/.local/share/ubuntuone/syncdaemon/tritcask/13?????????????.live.tritcask-v1.data
(can't remember the actual number at the beginning of the file name).
Deleting the file solved the problem for me.

It would be nice if something like this didn't cause such a catastrophic
failure. I'm attaching my controlpanel.log and syncdaemon-exceptions.log
log files for reference.
