This is fixed in 5.0.22-4. Would be nice to backport this version to
dapper...

** Summary changed:

- SSL does not supported
+ SSL not supported

** Description changed:

  SSL connections with mysql are not supported. I know some time ago openssl
support was disabled because of GPL incompatibility. However, from mysql
version 5.0.10 (dapper is shipping 5.0.22) it is possible to use yaSSL which
has not licence problems:
  http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/secure-using-ssl.html

  Unfortunately, dapper mysql is not compiled with yaSSL: would be nice to
  do that.

+
  Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'mysql';
  however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.

** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #348932

** Also affects: mysql-dfsg (Debian) via

   Importance: Unknown
       Status: Unknown

** Changed in: mysql-dfsg (Ubuntu)
       Status: Unconfirmed => Fix Committed
