Thank you for your response. I am no more able to reproduce this issue with Ubuntu 11.04 and latest packages from natty-updates repository as it turned out that after loading an image preview, it really does free the used memory up.
However, it keeps loading the last preview that it already started loading even if the folder in Nautilus is no more opened or even if the Nautilus window is already closed (see Bug #673137). After the last preview is loaded, it frees up memory correctly and no more preview loading is initialized, however, the last, already initialized, one doesn't stop loading after I leave the folder. The same thing happens with copying a file from the camera - gvfsd-gphoto2 loads it entire into memory first, writes it into HDD once it is whole loaded in system memory and ONLY AFTER it writes whole file onto HDD it frees all the memory used (see Bug #673151). The exactly same behavior is seen also on my Acer Aspire 8943G laptop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/673146 Title: gvfsd-gphoto2 seems to not free up memory correctly after load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/673146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
