Binary package hint: alsa-base
It seems that the alsa drivers shipped with feisty do not work correctly
with Conexant CX20549 audio, A.K.A intel hda or some such. More to the
point, in my HP 2225nr notebook, which uses this chipset, a clean
install of Feisty failed to produce sound through the speakers, although
the sound hw seems to have been detected correctly.
