I agree that this makes our software unusable.  But I don't think Ubuntu
will have an official release regardless of what we do (see bug #782412
- AFAIK they haven't even released 0.36.3).  If a user (or an Ubuntu
dev) wishes to compile from source, he may grab the latest development
version from bzr or just the patch.  Perhaps Maxin could make a
bleeding-edge release of the PPA...
