Hi Franz,
As of Natty, only automute from headphones to internal speakers is
supported, not headphones to line out. However, I know upstream has been
changing this lately, so if you download the latest drivers according to
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules that
might solve your problem.
