Public bug reported: colortail segfaults if it reads a line greater than 1024 characters in length.
This is less than ideal :) It's fixed in newer versions. Is there any reason this couldn't be moved into lucid? (from the changelog of the maintainer) Fixed stupid off by one error in TailFile.cc that caused a segfault if a line in the tailed file was longer that 1024 characters. see: https://github.com/joakim666/colortail/commit/85af5c4821ff852b36de165a44e181dc3cc5cccd 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System -> About Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS Release: 10.04 2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or by checking in Software Center $ dpkg -l|grep colortail ii colortail 0.3.2-2 3) What you expected to happen No segfaults :) 4) What happened instead Segfault! backtrace and valgrind reports available if required. (I used cat to pipe a file into logger, then tail -f syslog == boom (segfault)) ** Affects: colortail (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: colortail segfault -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/800504 Title: Segfault in colortail - fixed in newer versions?
