** Description changed:

- KDE's  network connection manager is finding the Huawei modem but rarely
- succeeds in making a connection.  See the attached image. It goes from
- 'preparing to connect' to 'not connected'   It sometimes gets as far as
- asking for the PIN code.  If it is finding the modem, then it should
- also be able to connect.
