Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-doc-utils
I was trying to compile Gnote from source code that I had downloaded to ~/Hämtningar/gnote-0.7.4. (Hämtningar is Swedish for Downloads). ./configure finished without problems but 'make' gave this error: anton@trofast:~/Hämtningar/gnote-0.7.4$ make Making all in data Making all in icons Making all in libtomboy Making all in src Making all in addins Making all in backlinks Making all in bugzilla Making all in exporttohtml Making all in fixedwidth Making all in inserttimestamp Making all in noteoftheday Making all in printnotes Making all in stickynoteimport Making all in tomboyimport Making all in underline Making all in dbus Making all in po Making all in help db2omf: Could not construct the OMF subject element. Add a subject element to /home/anton/Hämtningar/gnote-0.7.4/help/gnote.omf.in. make[2]: *** [gnote-C.omf] Fel 1 make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Fel 1 make: *** [all] Fel 2 Some research showed that others have had similar problems while building other projects that also utilise db2omf, see http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3127965&group_id=213712&atid=1026806 and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1755039. Moving the source code to a path that only includes ASCII characters seemed to help TiBeN from the SourceForge thread. I tried this as well and the build finished without problems: anton@trofast:~/src/gnote-0.7.4$ make Making all in data Making all in icons Making all in libtomboy Making all in src Making all in addins Making all in backlinks Making all in bugzilla Making all in exporttohtml Making all in fixedwidth Making all in inserttimestamp Making all in noteoftheday Making all in printnotes Making all in stickynoteimport Making all in tomboyimport Making all in underline Making all in dbus Making all in po Making all in help ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: gnome-doc-utils 0.20.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-32.62-generic 2.6.32.38+drm33.16 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-32-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 CheckboxSubmission: c43a19076448baad41c3944df9d92f15 CheckboxSystem: 533a8038ef5a55601694b49142442fa7 Date: Thu Jun 16 10:36:02 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release amd64 (20110211.1) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=sv_SE:sv:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=sv_SE.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-doc-utils ** Affects: gnome-doc-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/798092 Title: db2omf fails in directories with non-ASCII characters in the name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-doc-utils/+bug/798092/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
