Between May 31, when I reported that this bug had started, and Thursday,
June 9, the bug could be demonstrated on all three of my Ubuntu 11.04
machines: the x86_64 desktop, the i386 laptop, and the Acer N450 ARM
netbook. As of today all MSNBC videos are again working. Between the
period that I reported the bug on 6/03/2011 and yesterday there ave been
approximately 50 packages updated by the Ubuntu updater, to include
Google's Chrome browser (from V11 to V12) and the Adobe flashplayer.

Due to the length of time it took to get the Ubuntu developers to become
interested in this bug, we will now probably never know why it was
occurring.

But at least the problem has been fixed. I just wish I knew what caused
it in the first place.
