I am having a similar issue. I'm guessing my corporate net proxy is
causing the issue. The proxy requires authentication and I am not
getting a prompt from Ubuntu One when it tries to make the connection.

I have configured the proxy client and it works for most things but it
usually prompts for authentication even though I have supplied the
information in the"Details" option. I run into similar issues with many
apps the try to connect to the network. Even with the authentication
information supplied the apps seem to ignore them making the proxy
option nearly useless.

I wish there was an option for it to pass my username and password from
logging into the computer as we utilise single sign-on anyway.
