I seem to have the same issue, I get the following when trying to
install:

$ sudo apt-get install g15daemon

but still, dpgk considers the package to be installed. then I get:

$ sudo /etc/init.d/g15daemon start
Starting g15daemon: .../dev/input/uinput not found ...


what is wrong here?
