Skype's gdk loader complaints about 64-bit arch are just a red herring.
The real problem is that Skype messed up its configuration file.  To fix
it, simply delete it, or move it elsewhere.

mv ~/.Skype/shared.xml ~/.Skype/shared~.xml

Maybe there should be a bug filed against the gdk loader to make it shut
up about arch mismatches unless it actually fails to load the library it
needs,  so that the whole world isn't lead astray when trying to debug
Gnome apps...
