Are you on 64bit Ubuntu? I haven't tried this in a while so I'm not sure
if this is still the case, but I ran into issues going to sites with
flash with the default installation on 64bit. Browsers crashed when
seeing flash in 64bit Ubuntu despite that flash was not installed at
all. Installing the 32bit flash with 32bit wrappers fixed the problem in
that case. If nothing else, see if flash is a common denominator.
Youtube obviously uses flash for their videos and Facebook sometimes has
flash-based ads.
