I've had this happen again overnight. This time there is no BUG reported
in syslog; the system just 'hangs'.
I cannot login via screen saver, connecting via ssh gives a 'No route to
host' error. There is nothing in any of the logs that indicates any
problem

I was still using the system at 1:05
A cron job (amanda backup) was started at 03:00, but failed saying that
/home/llist (my home) was not found

I'd appreciate if anybody could suggest what to look at or has any
explanation how the system can just hang without any evidence to the
cause in any of the logs
