I gave up on wireless within Ubuntu and bought a Buffalo Ethernet Converter. Good luck. I hope it gets resolved. It's pretty frustrating how some hardware works with some versions of Ubuntu (though this may in fact be a Linux kernel issue) only to fail as the distribution "progresses".
