I think the real problem is that the backlight of iMON LCD is still left on 
when the system is powered down.
In order to power up with the remote, the standby 5V is used to power the unit, 
so it is a control issue.
The LCDd can be configured to shut off the backlight at exit but the MoBo 
power-down sequence is somehow resetting the LCD module so that the light is 
turned on again when the shutdown is completed.
It is worth to mention that when Windows is used, the backlight remains off 
after shut-down.
So linux is shutting down differently, in this case in a "bad" way.
