I have no interest in supporting installation methods involving gparted
any more; they've been too much of a nightmare for me in the past.
It should be entirely possible to resize partitions using the manual
partitioner. Did you try editing the partition and changing the size?
Could you attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman from the
installation attempt to this bug?
