I'm behind a firewall too (tomorrow I'll try disabling the proxy). Evolution does not even show me the dialog to enter the imap passwd (mapi works ok, asks for the password when needed, but is somewhat slow) When trying to get the CAPAbility, not a single packet goes out to any server, and evolution hangs for at least couple of minutes.
