Yes it seems to have something to do with memory. (173 haven't worked here, got a black login screen) I have a GForce 6100. The white windows only occur when many programs are open and when the windows are big or in fullscreen mode. I have increased the framebuffer size from 64MB to 128MB in the BIOS Settings and the problems are now away! The nvidia- settings Dialog now shows 512MB RAM for the graphic adapter (with 64MB Framebuffer Setting only 256MB)
