To replicate - open JOSM. 1) Download some data - File=>Download from OSM. Don't need much - for example past http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=53.6471&lon=-1.7822&zoom=13 in bounding box and download. 2) Open up anon.gpx (see attachment) 3) On the layers panel at the right hand side, right click on anon.gpx and select "Download from OSM along this track". Select 50m, 10km and track only then click ok. Click ok on message box. 4) OSM will start download data. Eventually a warning will come up regarding some data been potentially out of date - click check on server.
