Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS bash-completion 1:1.1-3ubuntu2 mawk 1.3.3-15ubuntu2 bash-completion uses '[:space:]' syntax for character class, which is supported by gawk, but not mawk, which Ubuntu uses to provide awk by default.
