I disagree.

Whether "/upgrade screen irssi" worked because of a bug or because of a
feature is by the by.  The crucial point is that it worked.  And now it
doesn't work.

I understand the bug you are referring to is that if you ran /upgrade
but typoed the shell command, then obviously the shell command would
fail, and irssi would quit.  The fix for that bug was to add a check to
see if the shell command would work before it was ran (the check is as
simple as checking if a file exists and has the right permissions).
Only this check is insufficient in this case because there isn't a file
with the name "screen irssi", but it is a valid shell command, and would
work if it was ran.

Please re-open and fix.
