Here I'll try to describe thing about what/why I call DSL connection:

My provider using some kind of smart/programmable router, which
providing me a local Ethernet connection. To connect to Internet, I
start my VPN connection in Windows. After I migrate from Windows to
Ubuntu I experiencing some trouble. So to connect to local Ethernet
network in "network manager" applet I'm choosing local network or
created by my self DSL connection to gain access to Internet. Ethernet
cable going directly from programmable router

to my notebook Ethernet port. In all cases I'm able to reconnect to
local Ethernet network.

And here the strange think about sound.

Yesterday late at night I put my notebook in hibernate. Today morning
after resume from hibernate I was surprised - sound card is working. Do
the hibernate and immediately resume again and it (sound) fail again.
Thats thing described above happen to me third time.(So exclude a human
fault, I'll do this experiment again, for make sure it's really true)

Installed linux-image-2.6.38-8-generic_2.6.38-8.42+lp766549r3_i386.deb kernel
and testing.
Usually hibernate/resume and suspend/resume causing no problem for connection
to local Ethernet.

But I cannot make DSL connection in all cases above.

2. Boot with no cable attached hibernate/resume - Able to connect to
local ethernet and/or make DSL connection succseffully.

Booting with no cable attached suspend/resume - Able to connect to
local ethernet, but cannot make DSL connection.
