Thanks for your additional information. The logs look like the upgrade is not finished? Did you attach them whilte it was still runing? Or did it not complete successfully? Could you also attach the crash file as a file please? This crash is either a bug in apt or it might be bad ram in your machine (so far I haven't had any reports about sha256 checksum failures). Does a memtest86 runs successfully?
