I can confirm this. It's particularly annoying when using many
indicators, or when using `xrandr --rotate` to switch the display to
portrait mode (in which case, on netbooks you can make out only the
first letters of the window title, or maybe one menu item or so). This
makes the menu essentially unusable with the mouse (which can be the
only mean of input, e.g., on tablets and convertibles). The menus are
still accessible, though, by using the keyboard.

I'd suggest implementing either a scrolling menu bar (with the new
scroll bars, this should not take up too much space), or preferably a
"there's more" button (e.g., with an arrow), similar to the approach of
LibreOffice toolbars, which opens a popup menu with the remaining,
originally invisible menus.
