Public bug reported: Binary package hint: grub2
Some change between maverick and natty caused grub2 to not be able to read files from a xfs filesystem anymore. when /boot is on a xfs filesystem, the system fails to load the initramfs with wired errors, like "can't read file", and so on. My guess is that some change in the linux-kernel, and how it writes files in a xfs-filesystem, because it generally happens to "new" files, ex after a kernel-upgrade it can't read the initramfs. ** Affects: grub2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: boot grub2 natty xfs ** Tags added: boot grub2 natty xfs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775507 Title: grub2 in natty fails to read xfs files -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
