ttyS0 not working on my Toshiba Satellite 1805-S203 / Ubuntu 11.04 / Solution
ttyS0: LSR safety check engaged Looking around I found the following message by Marc Haber on lkml.org: The issue was udev loading smsc_ircc2. As soon as smsc_ircc2 is loaded, the serial port shows the behavior listed above.
