Here's some new info:

This "feature" keeps following me across updates, but as the power
supply at my Amazon base has stabilized considerably lately, it has not
really been a problem.

Today I accidentally clicked on "Expunge" while Outbox was selected, and
got the dreaded ""Summary and folder mismatch, even after a sync" dialog
box.

So I guess that my specific problem happens to be a special case of an
existing bug (#27014 ?), when the folder that got itself screwed up is
the Outbox folder.

Now my question is: can I follow the instructions at the end of this:

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/27014

even though this is one of the system folders, not a user folder?

If not, what workaround does anyone suggest?

If I simply zap Outbox related files, does it magically grow back at
next restart of Evolution?

Petri
