On my very old Dell Lattitude D505 I do have scrolling in the beginning,
but kind of like gescheit, after a while (my laptop is often on a very
long time, say more days) it looses the ability to scroll and more
importantly middle button (right and left simultaneously).

I'm running Natty 11.04 (32-bit), everything default. Before (from 8.04
- 10.10) I had no problems.

The only thing I found strange is the massive amount of errors in
Xorg.0.log:

[ 46965.116] (EE) FBDEV(0): FBIOPUTCMAP: Invalid argument

$ cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep FBIOPUTCMAP | wc -l
287039
