@Christian Mangold I don't know the type of configuration u have on your system, but after seeing your comment, I decided to do a fresh install of Kubuntu 11.04 on another machine. Updated it to the latest packages and the only thing I installed was akonadi-kde-google-resource. even there I could not get it to work. It gave me invalid password. I tried again on virtualbox in livecd enviroment, and even there still couldn't get it to work. Maybe you should try this on a fresh install on virtualbox or something. In any case marking this bug is far from being fixed.
