Public bug reported:

After plugging in the phone into USB it was correctly detected. In the
Audio Settings the Test works if I choose USB audio for output. However
choosing USB Audio for recording doesn't do anything. If I try to use
something like the default recording programme I'm not able to record
anything no matter which device I choose. If I unplug the phone the
audio settings page correctly lists USB Audio (unplugged) instead of USB
Audio. (I'm not sure about the exact wording as I use the german
version)

I have no idea where the cause of this problem lies at all, so if you
can point me to any config files which contain information you need
please ask.
