Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cron
I know for a fact hey ware there, cause a couple of days ago I had to edit (sudo crontab -l) to comment a few lines for a test I was doing (trying a new backup program). Today, when I was done testing, I wanted to uncomment the lines to roll back the old backup schedule and the crontab was empty... sudo crontab -e also indicated it empty.... and in /var/spool/cron/crontabs I have found only the users files, not the root one. Then, after I have cryed a little, I have found this post http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10742514#post10742514 with someone describing the same issue, but in Lucid.... then I have posted this bug report. I am not sure if there is a workaround, a way to reproduce the symptoms, a way to get my crontab file back (my /var/spool where never backed up), or if there was a recent crontab upgrade during my testing... but I can tell I had to reboot a couple of times theese days, and never expected this to happen. ** Affects: cron (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/773864 Title: root crontab file has disapeard on my maverick box -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
