Yeah, I removed those 88 packages after identifying them in
synaptics....was fun copying and pasting into gedit...now called
texteditor...

That's what it installed with the package gnome.  After removing and
testing, it made no difference.  The only difference I see if that the
previous kernel I got from 10.10 is working and the newer one is
not....and my brightness control shows an indicator, but doesn't do
anything...  I don't have to report that as a separate issue, do I?
