** Description changed: Binary package hint: xorg I logged in with GDM, and pressed ctrl-alt-F1 to access a text console (which was successful). When I tried to switch VT back to the X session I saw the screen flicker and after a few seconds the GDM login screen appeared. The X session was lost. What I expected: to be able to switch back from the text console to the X session. What happened instead: the X session was finished and I had to log in again. The last few lines from Xorg.0.log were: (II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch (II) Open ACPI successful (/var/run/acpid.socket) (II) AIGLX: Resuming AIGLX clients after VT switch (II) intel(0): No memory allocations Fatal server error: Failed to submit batchbuffer: Bad file descriptor This is Lucid 10.04 with all updates as of today (6 May 2010). The xserver-xorg and xorg packages are 1:7.5+5ubuntu1.
