Auto-MDIX (direct ethernet connection without a hub/switch/router or crossover wire) worked for me last night between Ubuntu 10.10 and Windows 7.
I created a new wired network connection in Network Manager and selected the Local Connection type of connection. I found the IP addresses with ipconfig on Windows 7 and ifconfig on Ubuntu. I then browsed to a shared folder on the Windows 7 PC and copied the contents to the Ubuntu PC. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/609817 Title: Wishlist: Make Auto-MDIX work so no Crossover cable is needed -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
