The problem is that the documentation needs to remain online for the
life of the Ubuntu distro that has its help documentation linking to it.
In this case, Lucid docs will be online until at least 2015 when the
server support cycle ends.  Other releases need to be online for at
least 18 months, and given that the Gnome release precedes an Ubuntu
release by at least a few months, the Gnome docs would have to be hosted
for even longer.  I think we are better off sticking with "stable" docs.
