Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: deskbar-applet
there is no tracker integration for deskbar applet....
this is to me as if deskbar-applet is not useful at all and I found
tracker by itself to be only partially useful.
If you install the plugin from the deskbar website that plugin is
installed but do NOT work.
I terminated deskbar-applet and executed it manually from terminal:
/usr/lib/deskbar-applet/deskbar-applet -w
Connecting to Tracker (first search or trackerd restarted)
DBus connection to tracker failed, check your settings.

You should fix this... Windows has a working indexer, mac osx has a working
indexer
this is a major issue.
